The Thatched House – Exeter
The Thatched House in Exeter, is a building dating back to the 1600’s. Used as a pub since 1937, it has become established as the heart of the community in this time.
Following a refurbishment in 2015 the pub is now open plan, but can be divided as required with a comfortable snug, also suitable for business meetings or small family gatherings up to 20 people, a dining area, a drinking area and an additional seating area which could also double as a dance floor!
With regular entertainment evenings & functions, Bingo sessions on Tuesdays and quiz nights Sundays (a gentle family quiz) and after the bingo on Tuesday (a little more cerebral – but not TOO difficult!) there is something to enjoy at the Thatched House most evening as well as the fantastic range of local produce used in the food menu , and the authentic Italian Stone Baked Pizzas prepared fresh on site and cooked in the stone baked oven on site.
And last but by no means least, the Thatched House offers a fantastic range of real ales from breweries in Devon and beyond. These include hand picked flavoursome beer from Teignworthy, Otter, Hanlons, Hunters, Red Rock, Exeter, Powderkeg, Dartmoor, and Black Tor Breweries, to name but a few. The Thatched House offers tasting paddles of 3 x 1/3 rd pint glasses, so you can work you way all along the bar!
And it’s not just real ales, the Thatched House have real local ciders including bramble, cloudy, vintage, strawberry and pear from local suppliers such as Sandford Orchard. As with the real ales, if you are not sure what to have, you can try before you buy!
